Your first visit, fees and how to find us

A first visit takes 45 minutes and costs $95. You do not need a referral. Below is what happens, what to bring, what each appointment costs and how to get here.

What happens at your first visit

Your physiotherapist stays with you for the whole 45 minutes. You leave with a written plan and your first exercises.

  1. 0 to 5 min

    Welcome

We introduce ourselves, explain what will happen and ask before each part of the examination.

  2. 5 to 15 min

    Your story

When it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to. Bring any scan reports.

  3. 15 to 30 min

    Tests and measurements

We watch you move, measure range in degrees and test strength. You may change into shorts or a vest.

  4. 30 to 40 min

    First treatment

Hands-on work, taping or exercise, chosen from what the tests found.

  5. 40 to 45 min

    Your plan

What we think is going on, how long it usually takes, and your first exercises, emailed to you the same day.

Fees and insurance

Pay by card or bank transfer at the end of each visit. Most private health insurers pay part of the fee. We give you an itemised receipt with our provider number to claim with.

Check your policy for how many sessions it covers and whether it needs a referral. If you cannot afford a full course, tell us. We can space visits out and give you more to do at home.

Questions before a first visit

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly. Some insurers ask for a doctor's referral before they pay, so check your policy. If you have a referral letter, bring it.

Will it hurt?

The tests and treatment should not cause pain you cannot manage. Some techniques feel strong for a short time. Say stop at any point and we will change what we are doing.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the problem. Most people need between three and eight. At the end of the first visit we give you an estimate, and we review it at each set of measurements.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. A friend or family member is welcome in the room. Children under 16 need an adult with them.

What if I need to cancel?

You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. Later than that we charge $35, unless you are unwell.

Do you offer video appointments?

Yes, for follow-ups and exercise checks. They last 20 minutes and cost $40. First visits are in person.
